Boston events

Foodies, craft brew fans, localvores, homebrew fans, and beer lovers all gathered at the Armory in Somerville over the weekend, for the third annual Hyper-Local Craft Brewfest, where local brewers, artisan beverage makers, and food vendors offered tastings of heaps of varying beer, cider and mead. Hosted by the Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts, the event was a celebration of everything local, sampling an incredible diversity of beer and highlighting homebrewing with local ingredients, like chili peppers, pomegranates, and green tea, produced by locals from Somerville to Vermont to Maine. Besides downing as many uniquely crafted suds as possible, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about homebrewing, interact with other aspiring brewers, and hear from experts about the brewing process. Here’s a glimpse of the weekend’s biggest beer party.
