48,523 cans of nonperishable goods went into the assembly of CANstruction Boston, a new exhibit at BSA Space, on 290 Congress Street. Arranged by a national non-profit of the same name, CANstruction brought together nearly twenty local architectural firms, competing for the People’s and Director’s Choice awards with punishingly elaborate structures (and good-to-slightly-questionable puns about cans). These sculptures will be “de-can-structed” on November 1st, with all cans to be donated to Boston food banks.
The exhibit is open to the public 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, now through October 31st. Admission is free, with a canned good donation encouraged.
