Some of Boston’s most renowned pastry chefs gathered Sunday at Post 390 in Back Bay to compete in the Rise and Rumble Showdown and put a creative twist on the art of doughnut making.
Chef participants competed from various restaurants throughout Boston, including the already renowned doughnut makers from Union Square Doughnuts to the less likely breakfast bakers from places like Harvest in Cambridge. In the end, Lauren Kroesser from Eastern Standard and Island Creek Oyster House was named champion, and earned a doughnut championship belt that Homer Simpson could only dream of.
