Boston Calling has got a blank canvas, baby, and it’s got your name. The popular music festival is bringing back its Blank Canvas contest, in which both local and national artists can submit murals to be displayed at this year’s music festival.
“We first launched Blank Canvas at Boston Calling’s September 2014 edition, and we were thrilled with the response we received from artists all over the country,” says festival co-founder Brian Appel in a release.
The competition selects five winners, each being awarded a $750 cash prize, an additional $250 for supplies and four 3-day VIP tickets to Boston Calling.
The art is to be inspired in one way or another by the event, artists, Boston or festivals in general. Those interested should submit a sketch of their mural by April 10 and winners will be announced on April 24. Artists will then have four weeks to create their full masterpiece.
