Dudley Square saw roughly 1,400 people turn out last night to stand in solidarity with the Ferguson protesters and in support of Michael Brown’s family. The rally, which began at 7 p.m. and featured a number of speakers, started for many with a march from the D2 police station in Roxbury, and continued after with a march to the Mass Ave connector, then up Mass Ave to Boylston Street.

While arrests were made throughout the evening, it was largely a peaceful protest, with many simply there to show support and power in numbers. Chants of, “Black lives matter!”, “Wake up, Boston!”, “This is what Democracy looks like!,” and more soundtracked the night. The images speak for themselves, though. Boston has a voice, is not afraid to speak up.
