Former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe was released by the Vikings in May after eight seasons, but an article he published today on Deadspin recounts his final season with the team, suggesting that perhaps his release was due more to his vocal activism toward marriage equality than his on-field performance.

Kluwe calls former head coach Leslie Frazier and general manager Rick Spielman “cowards” and special teams coordinator Mike Priefer a “bigot,” and dishes on various conversations he had with these men throughout the course of his final season. You can read the entire thing here.

What’s your take, does this seem as fishy as Kluwe spells it out to be?
