“She doesn’t even go here!”
That was perhaps the most quotable of the many lines that put Daniel Franzese on the map when he played Lindsay Lohan’s gossipy friend Damien in “Mean Girls” ten years ago. Franzese hasn’t stayed in the limelight the way Lohan or Rachel McAdams has, but remains an unsung hero of the film, and a pleasantly recognizable face a decade later. That’s why, even with a beard, we were delighted to spot Franzese starring in this terrific parody of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” called “Please Go Home.”
With assistance from actor Adrian Anchondo and the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, the actor’s less-than-thrilled reaction to a one-night-stand flips the sentiment of Smith’s heartfelt breakup song, but nails the deadpan approach, making for an actually funny parody in a modern world full poor parodies.
