We’re into April, folks. And you know what that means: another month to wade through until the weather actually gets nice. Luckily, there’s a solid crop of shows to help kick it off, whether you’re jamming to the experimental sounds of New England Patriots, or vibing to the cloud rap of Denzel Curry.
Monday, March 31
Start off the week the only way that makes sense: by rocking your precious face off. At Charlie’s in Harvard Square catch Allston noisemakers New England Patriots who will share a bill with Western MA punks Ukiah Drag, New York’s Lushes, and a new local supergroup called Kill the Babysitter which features members of Bugs & Rats and Guerilla Toss (9 p.m., $5, 21+). For another inexpensive rocking option, Allston punks Nice Guys take the stage at Zuzu in Central Square along with Chicago’s Crown Larks (10 p.m., free, 21+).
Tuesday, April 1
Australian psych trio Jagwar Ma makes a trip to the States and will stop at The Sinclair (8 p.m., $15, 18+). If that’s not your cup, Canadian garage rock duo The Pack A.D. is heading south to play Great Scott (9 p.m., $8, 18+).
Wednesday, April 2
Chinese indie rockers Carsick Cars are touring America and will make a stop at Middle East Upstairs (with Young Adults, Lady Bones, and White+; 8 p.m., $10, 18+). For an experience you can get almost nowhere else, check out 14-piece classical Italian orchestra Tredici Bacci, joining Vermont’s Great Valley and locals Cult and Leper who just returned from tour together (10 p.m., $3, 21+). Former locals and current west coast electropoppers Carousel return to town to provide support on a bill full of quickly rising names (with Cherub and Probcause; 7 p.m., $15, 18+). To stir a dose of hip hop into your week, head to Middle East Downstairs and check out Brooklyn duo The Underachievers along with Raider Klan cloud-rapper Denzel Curry (with Dillon Cooper, Azizi Gibson, Chris Collins, and M.S.E; 7 p.m., $15, all ages)
