After months of holding our collective breath, the Boston Calling lineup for this May (hand-picked by Aaron Dessner of The National) has been announced at long last with some major headliners and a few surprises. Beck, Pixies, My Morning Jacket and Ben Harper will anchor the three-day festival that boasts 23 total performers on the bill that ranges from big names to local favorites.
Local music aficionados will be thrilled to see Boston and critical darlings Krill nestled at the bottom of the Boston Calling poster, and country and rap fans are tossed an act or two with Jason Isbell and Run the Jewels, respectively. By and large, the Memorial Day weekend lineup is still for the rockers, and this spring’s installment of the now-iconic festival is sure to bring City Hall plaza to its knees.
