High school football hasn’t been this entertaining since “Friday Night Lights” went off the air. Warren De La Salle and Muskegon faced off at Ford Field last week for one of the premiere match-ups in Michigan football history. Or at least that’s what Fox 2’s Charlie Langton would make you think.
From start to finish, this report is pure gold. Langton’s extreme enthusiasm is the compass that guides us from dazzled facial expressions, to a locker room interview with a kid giving his best Ultimate Warrior impression, to a grandma showing off her beads, to a Warren De La Salle player colorfully informing Langton that he’s got his swagger back. It’s a bucket full of laughs, and the game itself was an absolute blowout. It didn’t matter though, because it’s clear that Charlie Langton could make a bingo game at the local senior center look like the Super Bowl.
Warren De La Salle’s Callum Rhodes, ladies and gentelmen…
