BBC Middle East reporter Quentin Sommerville has done years of peerless work in some of the most dangerous regions of the world to report from. Correspondents need to avoid sectarian violence, stray mortar rounds, and apparently, gigantic burning piles of drugs.

Sommerville posted the video on Twitter, saying “Dear tweeps, it’s been a year of bullets & bloodshed. You’ve earned a xmas laugh, at my expense.” The video was later removed, presumably for copyright reasons, but like a bad acid trip, it just won’t go away.

No matter how many times he tries to get his story going, he can never make it past “burning behind me is eight-and-a-half ton of heroin, opium, hashish and other narcotics…” before losing his cool.

Sommerville has taken it all in stride, even tweeting out another drug-addled report — albeit a fictional one, from the UK show “Drop the Dead Donkey.”
