Harvard vs. Yale. “The Game.” One of the oldest, most storied rivalries in college football history will play out its latest chapter in Cambridge this weekend. And for the first time ever, ESPN’s College Gameday will be on hand to showcase Ivy League fandom and the creative, irreverent tailgater signs for a nationwide audience. More

Somerville has developed a reputation as a hipster haven. From Hogwarts to College Campuses: This Is What Competitive Quidditch in Boston Looks Like
Sports

Most people know quidditch from the Harry Potter franchise; wizards flying around on brooms, throwing balls through hoops and chasing a flying golden snitch. Fewer people may know of quidditch as a modernized sport played on college campuses nationwide. At first, this real life version can be played off as a bunch of nerds running around on brooms pretending to be wizards, but in reality it is a collection of club athletes playing a full contact co-ed sport. Photos

As part of Converse’s CONS Project – a series of creative workshops held in Los Angeles, New York, Boston and Toronto and led by experts in each city’s skate, art, and music communities – local youths took to drills and saws yesterday as they learned how to build furniture from recycled skate decks. The “Creative Recycling” project was the third of five in the ongoing workshop series slated to hit the city over the next year and encouraged aspiring designers and artistic builders to learn the key skills of repurposing used skateboards, designing, and painting finished pieces. Be Not Afraid: A Guide to Winter Cycling in Boston
Fitness

Cyclists know that there’s no better way to get around the city than on two wheels. It’s fast, fun, healthy, eco-friendly, and free, and in a city where public transportation shuts down at 12:30 on most nights, it’s great to have autonomy in one’s own transportation. There are few sensations lovelier than whizzing through town on a beautiful day, unencumbered by schedules and crowded train cars.

Video

I just came across this video of a Fox 25 broadcast covering the February 2013 blizzard. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a weather reporter tracking snowfall totals in Worcester and a casual drug deal happening in the background… wait, what? More

This silly ferret seems convinced it can escape the confines of its countertop prison and leap to the greener pastures of the ironing board. Unfortunately, it cannot. Fortunately (for us), its attempt is hilarious. More

A Rundown of the Best Beefs in 50 Cent History
Music

You can’t call yourself a true hip-hop fan if you can’t embrace rivalries that come inherently embedded in the genre. And quite frankly, I love a good beef. Yes, the reasons why rappers are currently bickering with each other are for reasons lost on the listeners. Tyga’s running around calling Drake phony, Snoop disrespected Iggy Azalea for no apparent reason, and Migos insist that they run these streets better than Chief Keef (although no one really knows what the hell that means). Pre-Bar Exam: It’s OK To Camp Outside of a Liquor Store If Rare Bourbon Is Involved

It’s your last weekend of normalcy before the holiday crunch. Then, bam!: Thanksgiving Eve drinks with your high school pals, holiday tryptophan with your relatives, and then shopping madness begins (if you believe in that sort of thing), then it’s Christmas, then it’s New Year’s, then you’re another year closer to death. What we’re trying to say is: Relax this weekend, OK? We’ll keep you from looking ignorant with conversation topics about the Fed and Obama’s immigration whammy , you hit the bar and a museum or three … maybe not in that order.
